Tonight - Res and Cinespace Tuesdays

The RES shorts are back with new music videos featuring Röyksopp, Bright Eyes, and the White Stripes, short films by directors Neil Blomkamp, and a short from the legend himself Michel Gondry. RES will also be announcing the Jury and Audience Choice awards for its 9th Annual RESFEST. If you're into independent film you should be checking out the monthy screenings and the annual RESFEST which showcases the best up-and-coming work. It's attended by creatives from all industries. The afterparties are decent - don't expect something amazing unless there's a special screening of a particular film. That's when they pull out the stops and it really goes off.

Lady Sovereign is performing live tonight at Cinespace. Opening will be Bedtime for Toys. Lady S gets a lot of crap about being similar to M.I.A. or Lil' Kim, both accusations of which are ridiculous because she's more of a subblow/grime act and is short but def taller than 4'11". The party is also the Beck remix album release party...of course, another Beck related event. We'll be drinking Beck cola and receiving free copies of Beck magazine. Hopefully I'll have some good sightings this time around. I know, I know, it's been awhille - xo
